SPF (Sender Policy Framework)

An SPF record provides details of the IP address(es) authorised to send mail on behalf of a Sending Domain.

The System Monitor will verify the SPF DNS records for the Sending Domain. An invalid or missing entry can have a negative impact on delivery rates and inbox placement.

Common Questions

Can I send without an SPF record in place?

Successful email delivery is dependent upon the policies of the receiving mail server. If any deliverability issues are encountered using a domain that has no SPF it should be one of the first issues to be addressed.

What should I do if my SPF record is missing?

All of the recommended DNS records are provided on screen, these should be copied and added to the DNS hosting for your sending domain. A PDF containing the recommended settings can be downloaded if you require external IT support.

Where do I change my DNS record?

The DNS entries record will need to be created on the name servers responsible for managing your domain name.

Many domain registrars provide control panels to configure the DNS on their servers you should contact your registrar for further support.
