Email Performance Rating

Email Performance Rating (EPR) is a number between 0 and 100 that is calculated daily using delivery and engagement data from emails sent during the previous 14 days.

EPR is a personalised indicator relating to sender reputation and sets a realistic expectation of future email delivery and engagement performance.

How is the rating classified?

For simplification, ratings are classified into three bands and it is not uncommon for ratings to fluctuate up and down.

The target band is 'Good' and an EPR of 75 or above is required in order to maintain that position.

  • 75+ is classified as 'Good'
  • 50 to 75 is classified as 'Fair'
  • Below 50 is set to 'Poor'

Why is EPR useful?

There are many things that can influence delivery and engagement performance and because of this it can make it tricky to pin-point the root cause of a lower EPR.

EPR provides a daily historical view to help with more easily being able to identify issues relating to domains & IP addresses in addition to highlighting problematic and poor performing emails.

What are the benefits of EPR?

EPR enables faster identification of authentication and reputational issues relating to domains and IP addresses. Continual ratings updates creates a daily record so that performance over-time can be monitored more easily.

Where is EPR displayed?

EPR is set at a Campaign and Workflow level in order to provide the most useful view and indicator of performance.

Ratings are displayed within the System Monitor feature (located in the top menu bar) and, where relevant, throughout the app relating to Campaign & Workflow reports.

Is EPR calculated on sending and tracking domains?

No, there's no EPR attributed directly to a sending or tracking domain but there is a complete history of which Campaigns and Workflows a domain has been used for.

Aggregated ratings are set on all Campaigns and also on all Workflows then there's a rating on each individual report.

Why isn't EPR always available?

EPR analyses sent emails and therefore requires a useful sample of data.

EPR is displayed in a number of different places throughout the application and the minimum required 14 day email sending volumes for each type of analysis are...
