Pre-populating User Data

Forms can have their fields automatically pre-populated with a User's data by enabling the 'Pre-populate on Load' option. This option is disabled by default when Forms are first created.

After enabling the option the Form will be pre-populated when a User follows an email link to the Form or when they visit a Form they have previously filled out and submitted.

Enabling Pre-population

To enable pre-population for a Form, open up the Form in the editor and click on the Form background to bring up the Form settings in the sidebar. Scroll down to the bottom of the sidebar and toggle the 'Pre-populate on Load' option that appears under the 'Field Mapping' section.

Enabling this option will reveal a 'Pre-populate Field' option for each field in the Form to allow control over which particular fields should be pre-populated.

Email Address Updates

When using a pre-populated Form, by default the email address field will be disabled for editing to prevent changes in email address. This can be changed by using the 'Allow Email Edit' option in the settings for the email address field.

Form Allow Email Edit Option

Enabling this option will allow Users to change their email address. If the email address supplied by the User doesn't already exist the User's record will be updated with the new address accordingly. If the User supplies an address that already belongs to a different User, the Form submission will update the User record the email address belongs to.

Not You? Link

If a recipient is likely to forward their email on to friends or colleagues a 'Not You?' link can be included on pre-populated Forms. This link is only revealed when a User is viewing a pre-populated Form, following the link will take them to a de-personalised version of the form without any User data included.

Form Allow Email Edit Option

The Not You link is enabled by default when using pre-populated Forms and can be toggled by viewing the settings for the email address field. When enabled the text of the Not You link can be modified in the Form Builder as required.
